A few days ago me and my buddy Chris and I stumbled across this creepy abandoned coldusac that just so happened to be lined with barriers. Today, Keith and I went back and I dug one out, and formed some transition. This is the first post regarding it. I'll show the progress, but since I didn't show it before it was dug, I suppose this is the "before" for a before and after thing or something.

We went back a week later with 12 bags and got the first half, maybe only quarter done.2 days after that, we went back and bondo'd it, and had a quick little session.

We got some prime deals, but I still don't have a camera so I apologize for the lack of pictures in this, and the last few pots. It was a productive Saturday and things are looking good.

This past weekend we celebrated Deans 18th birthday. Happy birthday, buddy. We also did a lot of blading Friday, Saturday and a little Sunday. Footage is lookin' cool, trailer coming soon. Here are some photos from dinner.

Los Angeles 9/18,19/09

Friday I got off work and picked up Dean at his homes in Rancho Santa Margarita around 3:30. We headed to downtown LA where we picked up Dylan at the Union Station. We parked on the 2nd St. hill like always and cruised around. It was already startin' to get dark so we decided to fool around on the nothing at Ghetto Park. After ghetto park we cruised to the usual Burger King then turned back around on Grand and headed to LA Highschool. LA High looks like a lot more fun than it really is. It is just frusturating. After skating there for two hours we went back down to Crenshaw and got on the freeway. We went to Dylans house in Santa Monica to stay the night. We walked 20 blocks on Wilshire at 2:00am tryin' to find food and just ended up goin back to Dennys on Lincoln and getting a $3.99 Grand Slam. Can't go wrong. After eating and not tipping we went back and called it a night. Waking up around 10:30am, I found the perfect way to start my day by receiving a parking ticket. $61.00 to the S.M.P.D, so tight. We headed to Hollywood to meet Adam and Keith at the "Sunset School" (Micheltorena St. Elementary), only to find a flea market going on, leaving us unable to skate. We head to Rosemont and Temple and substituted with the benches there. After we headed back towards Santa Monica and went to El Segundo. The school is really sick, and we were anxious to light it up so we dragged the generator, lights, and all the extension chords and set them up. I fired up the generator and it was out of gas within 30 seconds. Major chest. Instead of going to get gas, we sat at El Segundo for around 3 hours before callin' it a night. Overall, pretty unproductive weekend, but worth while.

We skated Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend... and I didn't document any of it for the blog. Friday Kieth and I went on a solo mission around San Clemente to try and skate random things. We found a mini ramp in the business parks and ripped for a little, then it was time to pick up Dylan Davis from the train station. That night me, Adam, Keith, and Dylan all stayed the night at Deans house. We woke up Saturday to a platter of bacon and waffles, then headed North to show Dylan some classic Irvine spots. We skated the usual spots and met up with Foz, Tinz, Andrew, Alejoh, Tom, and Iain. After we all skated we grubbed on some In N' Out before headin' to Fozs house in Newport. Anderson is a classic spot right next to Fozs house, but they have altered the school by changing the rails and capping most of the ledges. There was only 3 ledges left un capped so we bought a rub brick and went at it. Rub bricking a ledge can take a while to do well, so we got one done and waxed, then moved onto another. At this point we had been there for around a half hour when a random hero and his wife decided to show up. They harrassed Adam, tryed to instigate a fight, got it Deans face, then grabbed Dylan, yelled at us and told us to "get the fuck out of Newport" multiple times. We all laughed at them and kept it going for a while, but we left and ordered pizza at Fozs instead of over doing it. Pizza Hut was good, but around midnight we called it a night becuase people had work the next morning. Dylan came and stayed the night at my house so we could skate again Sunday. Sunday Dylan and I made a solo mission to an abandoned pool. Its quite a hike up a rock trail and dirt road, but well worth it. Dylan got some clips and we just fooled around for a few hours. Leaving at around 4:15, we were in a time crunch to get Dylan back on the 5 o'clock train. I dropped Dylan off at the station around 4:53 and headed home. It was a tiring, yet fun and productive weekend.

So I just got home from dinner at TGI Fridays for Chris's 21st birthday... as you could imagine, he was drinking for most of the night. Yesterday Dean and I went on a solo mission to film a skatepark edit... the idea failed terribly. We got lost in Garden Grove and somehow ended up in Long Beach. We didn't really know how to get to downtown or even to any streets we knew. We found Cherry St., headed to Ocean, then knew where we were again. Driving aorund looking for spots can be tough, so in doing so we got lost for the second time in the Long Beach ports. We found the bridge that went back to Ocean and just decided to head to CSULB on 7th since we knew where it was. We skated some shit, then headed south. We went to Westminister and didnt find anything knew, so we headed towards Santa Ana. We found a knew ledge which we ripped until dark. Instead of making a skatepark edit, we decided to make something a little bit more serious on the spots. "Dean Cowards 1 Day 2 Spots" edit will be up by Friday... I still need to import, so, yeah. Until then.

Oceanside/Irvine/Santa Ana 8/14 & 8/15/09

Friday afternoon Keith, Andrew, and myself all head down to skate some ditches and the new skateparks in Oceanside. Due to the traffic, we only skated one ditch, but both the parks, which were crowded but good. Keith couldn't skate due to the fact his arms still broken from Nimh Woodward week, but he hung and watch me and Andrew fool around. after the parks we skated some little set before eatin' Little Ceasars. After some Hot N Ready, we skated the ultimate "skateboarder rail" at Mira Costa College, saw the biggest black widow ever, then headed back North to San Clemente. After a pit stop we decided to stay the night in Irvine to get an early start. We headed to Irvine around 10:00pm and went straight to the jacuzzi. The quick dip relieved us, and we ended up playing Skate 2 until 4:00am. As one could guess, we didn't end up getting an early start. Waking up around 11:00am, we waited for Adam and Foz, who both arrived around 1:00pm...

I have been really slow with the blog recently, so I apologize, but we went to L.A this past Saturday and I felt it was an appropriate time for an update... I picked up Keith from his house around 9:30am before heading to pick up my death lens from my skateboarding buddy Chris. After getting the lens, we headed to Deans house in Rancho Santa Margarita. We arrived at Deans around 10:20 and quickly swooped him. Next I hit the toll road to the 405 and picked up Luda in Huntington Beach. We were finally off. A half hour later we parked on Hope street and started cruisin' around downtown. We first skated "ghetto park" which lacked in very many spots. Then we went to these brick quarter pipe things Jeff skates in his Life+ Cause section before heading to grab a bucks back on 1st street. On the way back to the car we stopped at the gap to ledge, and Luda died... We skated the little marble benches on Hope St. before heading to car wash banks. We skated the car wash banks for about a half hour then went to 7-11, had a tailgate party, then met up with Negrete. We went to some spots in Echo Park that noone really busted on before heading to another school. we shredded the school, got some clips, then called it an evening. I haven't had a camera lately, so I decided to do a blog update from my Blackberry. Here we go... Yesterday I went to Long Beach to meet up with Dean, Luda, Tommy Boy, and Joey G. Joey G is visiting from New York so it was super cool to see him. I met them at this ledge on the beach, but right when i got there they were done. We went to eat some fish tacos at this place called Holy Mole' or something like that....

This Saturday we spent another day in L.A. I did a lot of driving and we did a lot of spot checking, but we still managed to get a lot done...

Once again we started the day off by picking up Dean at the Del Taco in Mission Viejo. Adam , Keith, and Dean all grubbed on some for breakfast while I passed.

We took the 5 north all the way to Soto. When wearrived on 26th St. it was 85+ degrees.

We skated this ledge Montre does in Too Faded....

...as well as this long flat rail across the street.

Adam and Keith are still filming for their video Let's Blade as well...

Next we got back on the freeway and hit the 110 North and went to the infamous Fully Flared slab. I attempted to set up this rail with two tires and the few bricks we found.
We all fooled around on this spot as there was not that much to really do, but everyone got something.
Dean fakie 360d this thing in a line...

...and then we headed out again.

I found this school on Google Maps and it was pretty cool. The inside had another rail from the Too Faded Extras edit, but we were over hopping any fences for it. Dean was lookin' at a sweaty up this, but decided on a rain check.

We got back on Figueroa and headed to Burbank... which was not good.

So we walked across the street and had some Italianos.

Everyone grubbed and Adam got the left overs before we headed back south.

We exited Wilshire and went to check out another famous rail... which was not good. This spot is a major bust and we basically got kicked out looking at it.

Downtown is pretty sick, so we headed down Wilshire and went to 1st street again.

Lee's tricks on this were really good...

We rolled around downtown and just skated a variety of little spots...

We ended the day back on 1st and Grand with these little ledges behind the gap to ledge.

This Saturday me, Adam, and Keith all headed up to Irvine to skate some ditch we just heard of. When we got to Irvine, it was a nice surprise to see Alejoh already in the parking lot near the drain. The four of us waited for a few minutes before we walked down becuase there was a cop parked right on the curb outside the fence. After waiting, we grabbed all our gear and walked right through the fence. The spot was a disaster. The ground was rough, rocky, and there was giant slabs of cement from where the bank had literally fallen over everywhere. I started sweeping and moving stuff around while everyone just kind of walked around thinking of stuff to set up or skate. After cleaning and moving things around in the basic areas, we got to blading. Everyone was just kind of fooling around for a while before Keith filmed one of his lines for Let's Blade. Winston showed up and cruised for a little bit and I filmed a line of Alejoh before we headed out. After the ditch we headed to get some drinks from AM PM, and then went to some rail from Fruitbooter. Winston is the only one who even attempted, and got a trick on this rail. Adam and I scoped the plaza out and found this out ledge to transfer down rail, which we went to after. Adam did a trick on that, and Keith busted a trick on the handicap in front. We called it an evening and everyone headed home.

I have the idea of trying to make clothes for a long time and never got around to buying, or coming up with anything. I thought this video would be the perfect way for me to start, so I started.

Well another Thursday has come and gone. We went to Etnies as usual, enjoyed In n Out, and then went to Dean's house until 1:00 AM. There isn't much more to say.

Two days in Southside...

Friday and Saturday were spent on the Southside of San Clemente skating some old spots.
On Friday, Adam, Keith, Dan and myself all went to skate some spots. I spotted some roll next to these drop ledges I did a while ago. The top of the roll had a huge puddle of rain water on it so I swept it off with the broom in my trunk; unfortunately, only to leave the ledge still really slippery becuase of the paint. So, I pussed out and Adam did it instead. Next we headed to the Trestles beach barrier. The barrier used to be cemented pretty good, but it gone torn out and therefore re-done really shitty. We skated the barrier for probably an hour before Keith headed to work. Adam, Dan and I then went and skated Calafia ledges for probably about 10 minutes before heading home.

On Saturday, Matt Langel (Foz) finally came skating after months without seeing him! I met up with Matt, Adam, Keith, Phil, and Andrew at Calafia ledges once again. We skated the ledges for probably an hour. Foz got some shit done while everyone else just fooled around. It was time for the Trestles barrier once again. This time Foz and Keith both got tricks while the rest of just kept fooling around. The spot is actually really hard to skate with the new cement. Once another hour had passed, we all headed down and explored the alley ways of downtown San Clemente. I set up a little obstacle and got a clip for Let's Blade. After that Foz went to pick up his girlfriend while I headed to the boys house to say happy birthday to their Mom and hang out before calling it an evening.

It's been a month surprisingly, so we decided to head back North to have another L.A session. This time Dean and I dragged along Adam and Keith.... We did a lot, let the photos explain the day.

We picked up Dean at Alicica Parkway in Mission Viejo...
We drove North and hit a lot of traffic, arriving in Los Angeles around 1:15 P.M. Once again, the first stop was the gap to ledge on Grand Ave. Adam, Keith, and Dean all got clips before moving on to the metro station spot. Here is Adam with a zero spin soyale.

Adam fooling around with a back roy to ao wallride. It was super hot out, and this spot was really hard to skate, so we decided it was time for food after all of us were dehydrated.
We stopped for food and Dean went to Burger King while me and the boys crossed the street for some Subway. After everyone was refreshed, we headed to Sunset. We passed on the corner ledge and stopped at a thrift store before going to the school.
No one bought anything....
We arrived at the school and hopped the fence. We set up the benches and skated for probably two hours.

After the school spot it was almost 6:00 P.M, so we hopped that fucking fence one more time and decided to go down Hollywood Blvd.
Well, we couldn't find one spot, so we stopped at another goodwill. I bought this gay ass shirt for a dollar and we headed home.

Skatepark days...

Every Wednesday the boys and I meet up and skate our local skate park in San Clemente. We usually have a good little session there for a few hours just for kicks. This Wednesday all we really did was fool around for two hours.

Then there is Thursdays, where everyone comes and skates the Etnies Skate Park in lake Forest. This is always a good time and it's always cool to see people you don't see very often. This Thursday, we headed up towards Etnies and stopped at some 30 stair, steep square down rail. Adam did his tricks, then Winston showed up and destroyed it. After the death rail, we shredded the park, and all enjoyed In N Out afterwards. After In N Out, Adam, Keith, Andrew, Quinn and myself all headed to skate street in Irvine. We found some amazing ledges at the re-done train station, only to get kicked in literally 30 seconds. We offered the security $20 dollars to skate for an hour, but he declined and ended up talking about God for too long, or so it felt. After we got kicked we decided to go light up this little skate park at some church in Irvine. Keith and I pulled over to skate some line ledges I spotted off to the side of the road, and everyone else just headed to the park. 25 minutes later when Keith and I showed up, we got kicked out the second we opened the car doors. We reasoned with the security guard, told him we had driven from San Clemente to meet up with our friends (who he didn't even know had been skating the park for a half and hour), and he told us to chill for a minute. He came back over and told us to wait until his boss left, then we would be good to go. Ten minutes passed of sitting and bullshitting with everyone until he rolled back up in his cart. He gave us the go and we skated until 1:00 A.M. It was a fun little night of skating I guess.

Night skating 3/19/09....

Well, it took three weeks but finally another productive night. I picked up Adam, Keith, and Dan around 7:30 P.M, and we headed to Etnies Skatepark like we do every Thursday. We met up with the usual people and some boys from Arizona including Chad Hornish and X who were traveling with Mathias Ogger. We all skated until they closed the skatepark at 9:00 P.M and then we went to In N Out and enjoyed some food. Winston mentioned a trick he had been wanting to do so we headed back to San Clemente at around 10:20 P.M. We arrived at the concrete yard and Winston already had his skates on looking at this crazy drop rail. I went to my trunk and pulled out the generator, two lights, and 100+ ft. of extension chord and we lit it up. After everyone had set up their cameras, Winston showed off and laced the rail first try, only to do it again for a double angle, and a photo. After that spot, everyone got pretty juiced to skate. We drove around and looked at a couple spots on Southside San Clemente, but settled on an old little wallride that Dean did in my "Tiger In Harlem" edit. We lit it up, Adam got some cool shit done, and everyone was satisfied with the footage. So, thanks, Adam ! After that spot, it was already past 1:00 A.M, so we called it a night. Everyone went to stay at Winston's and me and the twins went home. Overall, i's say it was a pretty adventurous night.

Los Angeles 2/28/09...

So in order to end February right, Dean and I decided to have an L.A day while the rest of the boys were at Bitter Cold. I picked up Dean at around 10:45 AM in Santa Margarita and we hit the toll road back to the 5 North to save a little time. We barely hit much traffic and arrived at 1st St. in downtown at around 11:30 AM. By the time we found parking, it was past 12:00, but at least we found a free spot. We skated down to the first spot which was a gap to ledge on Grand Ave. Dean got some shit done while I filmed, and got a little line done for my own sake off to the side. We skated that spot for about an hour before heading through China Town to some loading dock ledge, which ended up sucking. We headed back towards downtown only to get stuck on a one way street for nine blocks. Turning back around, the decision was to take a little break, so it was time for Burger King. Being refreshed was a good feeling, and we headed towards what we thought was L.A High School only to be distracted by the sign reading Sunset. Saying "fuck it", we headed towards Hollywood. We saw corner ledge and pulled into the neighborhood across the street. Dean, once again, got shit done while I filmed. Heading towards Hollywood High, A colorful school caught my eye, and we swung a right turn, only to find out it was bomb as fuck and from Too Faded. Sucking in our stomachs, and squeezing through the fences was the worst part, but it defiantly ended up being a fun and productive spot. Gatorade is good, so we decided to get one at the closest liquor store. It just so happens there is always a lot to see on Sunset because we ended up being across the street from the Elliott Smith memorial. We geeked out, took some Myspace photos, then headed to Amoeba. Being overwhelmed by how great that store was, we left, just in time to hit five o' clock traffic, and pass on Hollywood High when we were so close. Overall, it was a great day of skating, and it finally felt good to be skating something besides Orange County spots.

Today Adam Brierley and I teamed up to take some old junk from my garage down to some little banks near my house. I loaded my car and drove down to pick up Adam. We made a pit stop, picked up some angle iron (which later saved the day), and headed to the spot. When we arrived there were nosy people everywhere giving us really bad vibes, but we quickly unloaded the car by the fence, parked up the street, and walked to down to carry everything to the spot. We trucked through the mud with our backpacks on and carried down the stuff. When we got there, I banged out a wall ride with the drill I brought down in may pack, and we positioned my box in the center of the ditch. My box was perfect, but the wall ride was a bit flimsy. I grabbed a 10ft. piece of angle iron and jammed it into the dirt behind the wall ride. The next time Adam tried it it was perfectly sturdy and worked like a champ.

After this spot, Adam and I headed to San Clemente High School to resume shooting for his Nimh edit (which is going to be killer) and met up with Alejoh Candelo and Winston Wardwell.

So basically, it was a fun day of foolin' around on the blades, even though Adam did get some pretty good shit done at the High School for his edit... all i'm going to say.
